If you've decided to try an internet dating service here are a few dating tips and advice that will help you get the best from your dating service membership.

• Sell yourself honestly- Give a truthful description, but don't forget to sell yourself.
  
  
• Find a flattering photo - Ask someone to help choose your best picture. Maybe get a friend to take some photo's just for online dating.
  
  
• Look for similarities - It may seem obvious, but try not to choose members whose politics, habits or ideas you don't like!
  
  
• Be safe - Use a disposable e-mail address and don't give away your phone number or home address. Make sure you meet somewhere public and consider taking a friend with you on the first date.
